BLUES
FEST CAPS FAIR: 7-hour event features local, national bands
WATD disc jockey Liz Raven was acting more like a groupie than
host of the Marshfield Fair's Green Harbor Roots and Blues Festival
when she jumped onto the stage and asked East of Autumn to play
one more song.

We need more music like East of Autumn, each song contains a passion
that is so sincere that you can feel them reach out from the recording
and connect with your emotions, plain and simple- I loved this
CD. I like every single song, (how often can we say that?)

This release will showcase the band's variegated approach to rock,
with some jangle, a little tenderness, and lots of back-to-basics
grit... With Chartier's writing ability he seems to have little
trouble coming up with quality melodies...

East of Autumn's debut album is well-written and performed with
elan, so keep an ear out. You could call it a more alternative-sounding
Tom Petty, or a more pop take on R.E.M., or simply an updated
electric Bob Dylan, but the new CD is a gem of familiar sounds
made fresh and vital. It fits nicely in the Whiskeytown and Son
Volt category of Americana, yet also mixes in a soulful Counting
Crows streak.
